This project involved software to connect to real airplane controls and coordinate the eight Pentium 4 computers it takes to run the simulator. The simulator was donated by MPC Products to the Challenger Learning Center in Woodstock, IL. It is used by thousands of visiting school children each year.
It is also sometimes used by VIP’s as seen here in this photo of Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell flying the simulator. |
